Spinal Stabilization in Brick, NJ
The Importance of the Spine to Chiropractic Services
Many of the larger muscles in your body attach to your bones and create
movement in your joints. Other muscles, especially many of the spinal muscles,
also help to create movement but their main purpose is to stabilize the vertebrae
so that they do not move too much. This is called spinal stabilization.
Your body has a very specific way of making sure your spine doesn’t move too much because this creates nerve stress. Core stabilization occurs when the deep muscles of the mid to lower back contract while you bend, twist, or even when you’re walking.
How This Relates to Condition Treatment
The question that arises is this…Are your core muscles strong enough to do the
job that they were meant to do? Sadly, most people have a very weak core. Therefore, Dr. Kawa always includes core stabilization exercise as part of your care
plan.
Creating movement and balance by performing specific spinal corrections is the
first step; the second step is to learn how to create strength and endurance
in your core. This will prevent constant “micro-traumas” from continually
causing spinal mis-alignments and joint malfunction; which always leads to nerve
stress and damage.
